Sogreah Sert has just inaugurated Europe's largest rooftop solar photovoltaic system on public building, in the French town of Orange.

The project consisted in incorporating nearly 12,000 photovoltaic modules into the roof of the "Orange Les Vignes" shopping centre in the Porte Sud development zone, representing a total roof area of 27,000 m2 spread across eight buildings. The rooftop system has a capacity of 2.2 MWp and will generate 2.5 GWh/year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 1000 households.

Sogreah Sert, in collaboration with Sogreah Marseille, designed and developed the photovoltaic system and the roof and then supervised the construction works on behalf of Bouygues Immobilier and Aérowatt.
Cost of PV roofing works: €13m
