River development schemes

It has taken several decades of studies and projects to gain a full understanding of the complex nature of rivers and the potential repercussions of dyking, training or dredging them. We have extensive expertise in the fields of sedimentology, river morphology, torrential flows and hydro-sedimentary modelling, which we use to design functional development schemes that respect natural river flow conditions. By making reasoned use of both conventional techniques (dykes, rockfill protection, weirs, training) and innovative approaches (restoring natural flood plains and flow conditions), we strive to achieve the best possible balance between flood and erosion control, navigation, tourist activities and aquatic environment conservation.
