Dams and large hydraulic structures

Designing and building dams to control river flows, open up waterways to shipping and create lakes and reservoirs has been one of Sogreah's key areas of expertise for more than 80 years. We have developed expertise in all types of dam (arch, concrete, RCC, rockfill, earth) and the associated structures (flood spillways, siphons, tunnels, feed chambers, vortex shafts, stilling basins, etc.). We also have extensive experience of pumping stations (notably very high-capacity stations) and river water intakes and outfalls, as well as recognised know-how in protecting linear infrastructure against flooding, especially in cases where a road or rail bridge crosses a river.
