Waterways and canals

The European Union is promoting inland waterway transport as part of its efforts to adjust the balance between the various modes of transport and traffic has increased sharply in recent years, prompting governments to renovate old waterways and open up new ones. We are actively involved in this area, both in rehabilitating numerous waterways and in implementing new projects. We are using the skills we have acquired since the 1950s, on projects in Europe, the Middle East and South America in the fields of canal, dam and lock engineering and in the study of problems related to approach currents and the operation of high-capacity locks.
