Stormwater

Stormwater plays a decisive role in triggering floods and dispersing pollution, and is a key factor to be considered when selecting and sizing sewerage systems. Sogreah has been performing studies and mathematical model simulations of separate sewerage networks and stormwater basins since the 1960s, and has implemented numerous stormwater collection, storage, treatment and redistribution projects. Nowadays, buffer zones consisting of holding structures and pretreatment facilities are used to avoid the costly oversizing of networks and limit pollution caused by runoff. These extensive techniques, based on technologies with low operating costs, are also a major area of innovation in the framework of sustainable development.
